We want everyone to be able to browse, read about, and order books here.
Ebookaros is a small, independently run online bookstore. We build and maintain this site ourselves, and we work to keep it usable for people with disabilities.
The standard we aim for
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our reference standard. We are working toward it rather than claiming full conformance — being honest about that matters more to us than a badge.
What we do today
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and labelled form fields.
- Keyboard access for navigation, search, cart, and checkout.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images.
- Text contrast checked against the AA contrast ratios.
- Layouts that reflow on small screens and when text is enlarged.
Known limitations
Some book cover images and descriptions come from our publishers and suppliers, so their wording and image quality vary. If a listing is hard to read or understand, tell us and we will rewrite it.
